Match 1

Brownhills Community Colts 3 v 0 Bentley Community FC

Goals Scored for Brownhills by –   Adam Toddington (2) Charley Harris (1)

Bentley started with menace and put Brownhills under pressure from the off, two corners were won and dealt with by the Brownhills defenders within the first couple of minutes The only shot from Brownhills came late in the first half Adam Toddington Setting up Tom Hale but the finish was an easy save for the Bentley Keeper.

In the second half Brownhills began to shape up and the passing had returned to a good standard resulting in more chances on goal, Charley Harris returned to the Colts this week in great form and from his first touch made a skilful individual run and strike on goal but the shot was saved.  Jay Scott used his now trademark big kick to find Charley again who had made space and was unlucky not to finish.  Brownhills found themselves in trouble, Bentley looked sure to score from a goalmouth scramble that kept inching towards the Brownhills line, keeper Sam Hayton-Wilcox was there bravely diving at the feet of Bentley players trying their best to get a touch but he kept denying shot after shot,  Ben Jones of the colts  did not give up and with a final lunge manage a decent clearance, Adam Toddington picked up the loose ball and made a break for Brownhills, his shot was bravely saved by the Bentley keeper but he could not hold it and Adam was there to finish off.
This encouraged Brownhills who were struggling to get through a strong Bentley side.  Within minutes Adam Toddington found Charley Harris who’s quick turn and shot resulted in a spectacular goal.  The very last kick of the game was a corner to Brownhills, Adam took the corner and with a skilful curl and use of the wind made it three for Brownhills.

Match 2

Brownhills Community Colts 2 v 2 FC Bloxwich Vipers

Goals Scored for Brownhills by –   Charley Harris & Ben Jones

Brownhills started well pressurising Bloxwich from the first kick of the game, Tom Hale put a shot in off his weaker foot and the keeper saved, Adam Toddington took the next shot but was off target this time.  Bloxwich made a break and the resulting  shot was saved by Sam Hayton-Wilcox, quick thinking on Sam’s part as he saw Charley Harris in space, did a long and accurate goal kick reaching Charley who opened the scoring for Brownhills.  Adam Toddingtons efforts in midfield in this game were superb, he did not give up on any play this time winning a corner for Brownhills, Bloxwich cleared the corner but Ben Jones had moved up field in case of a loose ball and as the ball landed in front of him he picked a place for his shot and scored a superb distance goal.
The remainder of the half saw both teams battle well, some great combinations of passing from
Ben Jones, Tom Hale and Adam Toddington helped Brownhills’ campaign.  In the second half Brownhills began to lose shape as confidence got the better of them, the passing of the first half had gone leaving players in space waiting as desperate shots went wide or over the bar. Keeper
Sam Hayton-Wilcox was tested to the max and deserved his title of player of the week with some extremely cool saves and brave dives at strikers feet but even with his best efforts Bloxwich managed to get the score level, Bloxwich were out of time for a win and Brownhills escaped with a draw.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SAM HAYTON-WILCOX
