Brownhills 4 - 2 Heath Hayes.
Brownhills started the game a little slower than Heath Hayes and soon found themselves a goal down. David Sly then went on a 50 yard run, rounding numerous players and unleashed a ferocious shot which the keeper tipped onto the post. David was there to finish off what he had started has he slotted the ball home.
Chris Stanton then managed to fire a shot in from an acute angle which the keeper failed to keep out.
Just before the half Heath Hayes managed to level things, however the Brownhills boys were dishing out a good old dose of Brownhills steel, which Heath Hayes were not liking.
Cpt Ash Wall gave the Heath Hayes Defence a torrid time throughout the game. On one occasion he broke free at the halfway line and made his way to the edge of the box, he was then taken down from behind with only the keeper to beat. Heath Hayes were lucky to not be down to 10 players!
Later in the game a scissor tackle from a Heath Hayes player was only penalised with a yellow card, they were again lucky to keep the full compliment on the pitch.
The second half was a dominant display from Brownhills, with CPT Ash Wall smashing home a good goal from wide left. Luke Cooper had a run up front for the latter stages of the game. He went close almost straight away when only his finish let him down. However he more than made up for it with his superb chip over the advancing keeper to put the game well out of Heath Hayes reach.
Brownhills toughed out a game, where their opponents could not, simply compete on the same level. The cries coming from the sidelines were testimony to the physical domination that Brownhills had over their opponents. It is a pity that the referee had to take so much abuse from the visitors, and spoil a good game.
