Brownhills Community Colts - 1 V 3 – Ashmore Park Rangers

Goals Scored By –Charley Harris

Man of the Match – Ben Jones

Ashmore started with an attack on Brownhills and it looked like an early goal would be conceded but Ben Jones managed to get a foot in and disrupt the shot in time. Brownhills quickly responded with a meaningful attack, Jay Scott shooting just over the cross bar. Brownhills were looking sharp picking up the goal kick and passing well, Ashmore again took charge but their efforts were slowed by a solid piece of defending from Tom Hale and Ben Jones. Ashmore came once more this time letting off a decent on target shot but Luke Norton saved and quickly made a long kick directed at Charley Harris, Charley controlled the ball and scored to take Brownhills into the lead. The lead was short as Brownhills were caught out, drawn towards the ball as a long throw went into their box to the feet of an Ashmore striker levelling the score. Ashmore’s spirits were lifted and they looked dangerous, they had found a weakness and exploited it a further twice in succession, Brownhills were trailing 3-1 as they went into the half time break. Brownhills fought well in the second half, no goals were scored from either side but the football was excellent and the effort was faultless.

Bentley Community Warriors -2 V 1-Brownhills Community Colts

Goals Scored by Jay Scott

Man of the Match – Tom Hale

Brownhills started well and looked organised and sharp with a perfect centre kick passing between players, Sam Hayton –Wilcox ran well and selflessly passed to Jay Scott who was positioned better for the shot and Brownhills took an early lead. Brownhills continued to play well throughout the first half managing to defend any attack Bentley tried. At half time Brownhills still lead and looked the better side. It was clear from the start of the second half Bentley had changed their tactics and immediately made an impact with attacks breaking through time after time, eventually they equalised with a scrappy goalmouth scramble that the Brownhills lads despite many efforts failed to clear. Bentley quickly won the ball from the centre kick and Brownhills conceded again from a poor clearance. Brownhills were lucky later in the game as the wind took a Bentley throw in into their net but the ball had not contacted a player so the goal did not stand. Brownhills played out the second half well and made chances but could not quite get the equaliser.
