Our Singalong Cinema Season continues with a special feelgood presentation plus a top notch cabaret concert performance from a favourite of us folk at the Lamp.

There’s also a Christmas Fayre coming up and a show by one of our resident musical theatre groups.

Sunshine on a Rainy Day

Sunshine on Leith is based on the stage hit of the same name, featuring music by pop-folk band The Proclaimers.

The film follows the stories of Davy and Ally, who have to re-learn how to live life in Edinburgh after coming home from serving as soldiers in Afghanistan.

Time Out describe the movie as ‘a wet,sloppy dog kiss of a film’ and the BBC’s Mark Kermode says ‘I shed a tear within the first 10 minutes, and spent the rest of the movie beaming like a gibbering, love-struck fool.’

Life is a Cabaret, old chum

Divas is the show celebrating the three of the world’s greatest female vocalists in which Alison Room sings the songs that defined the careers of Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli and Shirley Bassey, taking the audience on a fantastic musical journey that recounts the lives, loves and career highlights of these iconic performers on Saturday 17 November at the Lamp.

Winter Festival

Come along to our Winter Craft Gift and Food Festival at the Centre on Sunday 18 November from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.

Admission is free and there are loads of stalls packed with gift ideas and tempting treats for the festive season.

Our friends from the Reading Rooms will be serving delicious cake and hot drinks from their pop up coffee shop.

Good Guys Concert

BMTC are an award winning local theatre company who rehearse at the Lamp and perform at Cannock’s ‘Prince of Wales’ and Lichfield’s ‘Garrick’ Theatre.

Hot on the high heels of their sensational production of ‘Bad Girls,’ the company bring their ‘Good Guys’ show to the Lamp at 7.30 pm on Friday 24th and a special matinee show at 2.30 pm on Saturday 25th November.

Crooners Concert

Dust off your dickie bow, get the tux out of mothballs and get ready to croon along to classics from the repertoire of Rat Pack favourites Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davies Jr.

The Lamp kick off the festive season with a return visit from The Crooners on Saturday 1st December.
