Brownhills Colts win 2 awards in one week.

Last week Brownhills Community Colts FC gained 2 prestigious awards in recognition of their hard work and status as one of the leading Junior football clubs in the area.

The first award was the Sports Club Standard Award from Walsall Borough Council in recognition of the high standard of provision for Junior Football.

The second award was the Charter Standard Development Club County Award for being the top Charter Development Club in the Staffordshire County FA region.

Club Chairman Howard Fullelove was presented with the FA award at the FA annual presentation evening in Stafford.
Both awards are a reflection of the excellent work all the club volunteers do in providing a safe and enjoyable environment for the players.

The club are now finalising their submission for the Charter Community Standard which is the highest standard the FA can award.

Colts Academy Coaching Sessions:
The Colts launched their Coaching Academy in May 2006, sessions are on Saturday mornings from 10am till 11.00am for 4 to 6 year old boys and girls. The Academy has grown from strength to strength, focusing on ball skills, balance and team play in preparation for them to play competitive football when they reach the age of 6 to play at Under 7 mini soccer. This will ensure the Colts has a steady stream of players ready of the Under 7 age group which is the first official age group the players can play ‘competitive’ football. Within the coaching sessions there will be attainment qualifications and monitoring to enable the players to demonstrate their own skill development.
